NEW NATURAL SWEETENERS
DESTILACIONES BORDAS CHINCHURRETA S.A. is carrying out a collaborative project with important companies from the national agrifood industry.
The main objective is to reduce the sugar consumption in the population through the development of new alternative sweeteners obtained from natural resources, without a significant impact on the organoleptic and rheological properties of the foods.
This project is financed by the Ministry of Science and Innovation within the frame of the Strategic Program of National Business Research Consortiums (CIEN) managed by the Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI) and supported by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

Manufacturing processes of products of industrial interest
DESTILACIONES BORDAS CHINCHURRETA S.A. is carrying out a research and development project financing by the Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI) IDI-20190442. This project focus on the “RESEARCHING OF MANUFACTURING PROCESSES OF PRODUCTS OF INDUSTRIAL INTEREST”.
The general objective is to develop innovative procedures of synthesis of new products or to improve some of the existing ones, and to incorporate them into the DESTILACIONES BORDAS CHINCHURRETA S.A. (DBCH) usual production methods.
The implementation of new techniques in the productive processes implies improvements in yield, properties and commercial value of the products, in order to obtain a relaunch in productivity and be more competitive.
The project is expected to last 21 months. Nowadays, its second technical milestone is currently being developed and implemented.
The project is being carried out in the DESTILACIONES BORDAS CHINCHURRETA S.A.’s facilities, in Dos Hermanas (Seville), thanks to the granting of a subsidized loan and a non-reimbursable section, given by the Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI) and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

Improving the effectiveness of the processes
DESTILACIONES BORDAS CHINCHURRETA S.A. is carrying out a research project whose main objective is to improve the effectiveness of the processes of the perfumery and aromas industry.
This project is financed by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness through the Intelligent Growth Operational Program 2014-2020, supported by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

Synthesis and transformation of aromatic substances
DESTILACIONES BORDAS CHINCHURRETA S.A. is carrying out a research project on application of advanced techniques to the synthesis and transformation of aromatic substances.
The main objective of this project is to the develop organic synthesis technology, enabling greater effectiveness in the control of terpene chemistry processes.
This project is financed by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness through the Intelligent Growth Operational Program 2014-2020, supported by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

Food quality improvement
DESTILACIONES BORDAS CHINCHURRETA S.A. is carrying out a collaborative research project with a consortium of companies, whose main objective is to improve the food quality for elderly people.
This project is financed by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness through the Intelligent Growth Operational Program 2014-2020, supported by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

Reduction of allergenic substances
DESTILACIONES BORDAS CHINCHURRETA, S.A. has carried out a collaborative research project with the Technological Institute of Packaging, Logistics and Transport (ITENE).
This initiative, within the framework of the Innoaroma program, aims to reduce allergenic substances in aromatic ingredients used in the formulation of fragrance and flavours products.
This project has been financed by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness through the Intelligent Growth Operational Program 2014-2020, supported by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

Conversion of dipentens in derivatives of the p-cimeno
DESTILACIONES BORDAS CHINCHURRETA S.A. has recently finished a Research and Development project under the financing of the Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI) IDI-20170502. This project is called “CONVERSION OF DIPENTENS IN DERIVATIVES OF THE P-CIMENO”.
This project answers the need of our company to incorporate some synthesis methods into the production methods, in order to use the by-products generated in them, transforming them into products with greater added value. It has been designed with the aim of achieving a relaunch in productivity and competitiveness, that differentiates us from our competitors. This aim has been successful achieved.
The project has been developed in the facilities of our company, DESTILACIONES BORDAS CHINCHURRETA S.A; located in the Industrial Park La Isla in Dos Hermanas (Seville, Spain).
The project, which has taken 24 months, started in April 2017 and was completed in April 2019.
The Research and Development project has been carried out with financial help, granted by the Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI) and the European Union through co-financing of FEDER Funds.

NATURAL RODENTICIDE
Destilaciones Bordas Chinchurreta S.A. is carrying out a collaborative project called Natural Rodenticide with High Appetence and Safety (GREENRAT, 802C2000010).
This project has received an incentive from the Agency for Innovation and Development of Andalusia IDEA, of the Andalusian Government, for an amount of €600,506.71, co-financed up to 75% by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund, ERDF; within the framework of the Order of June 5, 2017, which approves the regulatory bases for the granting of subsidies in a non-competitive concurrence regime to companies for industrial development, improved competitiveness, digital transformation and job creation in Andalusia during the 2017-2020 period, with the following objectives:
- Getting a more competitive business network
- Promoting technological development, innovation, and quality research.
- Ensuring better use of information technologies.


HESPERIDIN DERIVATIVES
DESTILACIONES BORDAS CHINCHURRETA S.A. is carrying out a project co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) with the aim of promoting technological development, innovation and quality research, within the PID – RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT LINE, called “INVESTIGATION OF PROCESSES TO OBTAIN USEFUL HESPERIDIN DERIVATIVES IN THE PHARMACEUTICAL, COSMETIC AND AROMAS INDUSTRIES”, with the IDI: 20210662.
The budget for the project is about €635,909.00 and it has an execution period of 24 months.
The objective of the company with this project is the continuous improvement of its products and processes, seeking the implementation of innovative techniques in its production processes that enable improvements in the performance, properties, and commercial value of the products.
The project is taking place in the facilities that Bordas has in Dos Hermanas (Seville), and is being developed with the technical collaboration of the University of Murcia.

DESTILACIONES BORDAS CHINCHURRETA SA has carried out a project co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) with the aim of promoting technological development, innovation, and high-quality research, under the R&D LINE – RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT, titled: “RESEARCH AND IMPLEMENTATION OF LOW-WASTE INDUSTRIAL PROCESSES: OXYGENATION AND DERIVATIZATION OF TERPENIC RAW MATERIALS MEDIATED BY RESINS OR BENTONITES”, project file number IDI: 20230300.
The project had a total budget of €668,023.00 and received EU funding of €165,370.00.
The execution period lasted 24 months, from July 30, 2022, to July 29, 2024.
The company’s objective with this project was to research and implement processes that minimize industrial waste generation.
The project was carried out at the company’s facilities in Dos Hermanas (Seville).

DESTILACIONES BORDAS CHINCHURRETA SA has carried out a project co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) with the aim of promoting technological development, innovation, and high-quality research, under the R&D LINE – RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT, titled: “RESEARCH, DEVELOPMENT, AND IMPLEMENTATION OF SUSTAINABLE INDUSTRIAL PROCESSES FOR THE PRODUCTION OF FLAVORING AND AROMATIZING PRODUCTS FROM MONOTERPENES AND MONOTERPENIC ALCOHOLS”, project file number IDI: 20250024.
The project had a total budget of €684,897.37 and received EU funding of €251,826.00.
The execution period ran from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2026.
The main objective of this project was to design and develop two multiproduct synthetic routes based on β-pinene and menthol, whose intermediate and final products (perillartine and menthylamine) are new flavoring and aromatizing ingredients/products.
The project was carried out at our facilities located at:
Polígono Industrial La Isla, Calle Acueducto 4-6, 41700 Dos Hermanas (Seville), Spain.
